FAIRFIELD – Walter “SuperBubz” Herbert never tired of talking about his ideal playground.
It always had swings and a teeter-totter.
It bothered the 6-year-old that the playground at his brand new school – Central Elementary – had neither when it opened last September.
That changes Monday, nearly six months after SuperBubz lost his battle with neuroblastoma. Though it’s too late for SuperBubz, children at Central will have an expanded playground to use.
The Build It for Bubz community effort following his death garnered $26,119 for an addition to his school’s playground, where his sister, Adley, is a second-grader.
