A Houston businessman who announced plans in early 2016 for a $14 million baseball training facility in Katy, Texas, bearing the name of Hit King and former Big Red Machine great Pete Rose insists there's no rush to build the facility and "there is no story here," but the Houston Chronicle's Sebastian Herrera reports that "parents who have invested in the academy are perplexed and doubtful about when, or if, it will be built."
The academy was scheduled to open last fall and feature four outdoor turf fields and an indoor complex (about 20,000 square feet) with pitching and batting stations that would host camps, tournaments and a slew of youth teams.
