Offense quiet, losing streak continues for the 1-4 Cincinnati Reds

It’s an all-too-familiar story in the last three years. The Cincinnati Reds are off to yet another slow start to a season and digging a deeper hole in the standings.

After the bullpen was to blame in a pair of losses to the Detroit Tigers last weekend, the Reds’ offense slumped in an 8-5 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday. The Reds have lost all four games since their win on Opening Day.

The Reds produced two hits and two walks in six innings against Cubs right-hander Alec Mills. Nick Castellanos hit a double into the left-center gap in the second inning and a two-run homer in the fourth.
