GOODYEAR, Arizona – Shortly after the Reds began interviewing internal candidates in their search for next manager, president of baseball operations Dick Williams announced Barry Larkin was not going to be a candidate.

Williams and Larkin shared a few conversations about Larkin’s future with the organization and his role on their player development staff.

Larkin primarily works with minor leaguers, serving as a special assistant in player performance. He visits each of the minor league teams throughout the year to work with players.
