The Cincinnati Reds have been playing without Mike Moustakas and Nick Senzel since Sunday. Both players were scratched from the lineup that day because they “were not feeling well," according to manager David Bell.
That raised suspicion as to whether they had failed a test for COVID-19.
Teammate Nick Castellanos cleared up this one after Tuesday’s 8-5 loss to the Chicago Cubs. Asked how strongly his belief in this team was, Castellanos said:
"How strong is it? Extremely strong. I mean, I’d still put up our starting staff against anybody. If you look at our lineup, unfortunately with some of these (blanking) protocols, you know, Moose and Senzel both have negative tests, but they are unable to play until Thursday.
