It took 13 innings before some bad blood built up between the Cincinnati Reds and the St. Louis Cardinals this season.
Nick Castellanos was at the center of it Saturday, which started when he was hit by a 92-mph fastball from Cardinals reliever Jake Woodford on the first pitch of his at-bat in the fourth inning Saturday.
Castellanos briefly stared at the mound and talked to catcher Yadier Molina, clearly unhappy about the up-and-in pitch. After Castellanos took off his shin guard and elbow guard, and picked up his bat, he took a few steps to pick up the baseball and he appeared to ask Woodford if he wanted it back.
