All season, it’s been hard to keep Cincinnati Reds right fielder Nick Castellanos quiet for long.
Even though Castellanos was hitting .217 over his last seven games, he still ranked near the top of the National League in most of the major statistical categories.
On Thursday night against the Atlanta Braves, Castellanos led the Reds to a 5-3 win with a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Castellanos’ 415-foot line drive got the crowd of 23,941 fans at Great American Ball Park louder than they have been all season.
When Castellanos returned to the field for the top of the eighth, many of those fans shouted “MVP.
