NEW YORK – Noah Syndergaard didn’t need much help from his teammates in Thursday’s series finale against the Reds.
Syndergaard provided his own run support, crushing a solo home run to left field in the third inning, and he pitched a complete game shutout to send the Reds home with a 1-0 loss at Citi Field. The Reds split their four-game series against the Mets and finished their seven-game road trip with a 3-4 record.
The Reds haven’t won a series at Citi Field since 2013, posting a 5-15 record in their last 20 games at the park.
