Both of the men who managed the Cincinnati Reds this past season reportedly were considered for a position on the New York Mets' coaching staff before the team named Jim Riggleman its new bench coach on Monday.
The Mets interviewed Riggleman and the man he replaced on an interim basis for the Reds, Bryan Price, for their bench coach vacancy, according to a report by Newsday's Tim Healey.
The Chicago Cubs reportedly are expected to interview Price for their pitching coach vacancy.
Price, who was in his fifth season as the Reds' manager when the team fired him in April and replaced him with interim skipper Riggleman, was drawing interest from the Atlanta Braves and the Minnesota Twins - as well as other teams seeking pitching coaches, according to a report from The Athletic's David O'Brien.
