The New York Mets announced Thursday evening that they've signed former Cincinnati Red Dilson Herrera to a minor-league contract with an invite to big-league Spring Training.
In 97 plate appearances for the Reds in 2018 after the team promoted him from Triple-A Louisville in July, the 24-year-old Herrera hit .184 with five homers and 11 RBIs, walking eight times with 39 strikeouts. He played mostly second base and left field, but also played third base and first base.
