When you get called into the manager’s office close to Opening Day, it’s either good and bad news.
For Nate Jones Saturday, it was good news – very good news. David Bell told Jones that he made the Reds roster.
“David pulled me in the office and talked about the whole spiel of how he wanted the guys to know right away that they’d made the team and didn’t want them hearing it from anyone else," Jones said. "He wanted (the players) to hear it from them, which meant a lot, to be able to communicate that quickly to us.
