ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Cincinnati Reds get an unexpected day off – and a second scheduled doubleheader in a 10-day stretch – thanks to a rare weather postponement in Southern California caused by the historically rate tropical storm that hit the area over the weekend.
Monday night’s series opener between the Reds and Los Angeles Angels has been postponed by adverse field conditions left in the wake of Sunday’s storm. It is rescheduled for 9:38 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday as part of a split doubleheader, to follow the teams’ regularly scheduled game that afternoon.
How the postponement impacts the teams’ pitching plans was not immediately clear.
