Two days after a benches-clearing brawl between the Cincinnati Reds and the Pittsburgh Pirates, Major League Baseball announced eight suspensions on Thursday afternoon.
Reds pitcher Amir Garrett was given an eight-game suspension, manager David Bell received a six-game suspension, pitcher Jared Hughes was suspended for three games and former Reds outfielder Yasiel Puig received a three-game suspension.
For the Pirates, reliever Keone Kela was given a 10-game suspension, infielder José Osuna received a five-game suspension, Kyle Crick got three games and manager Clint Hurdle was suspended for two games.
All six players elected to appeal their suspensions and are eligible to play until their appeals are resolved.
