On the heels of their selection in the 2nd round of Rece Hinds, a talented high school hitter with big power who’ll likely require an over-slot deal to sign, the Cincinnati Reds went right back to that same well in the 3rd round, too. This time, it was 3B Tyler Callihan, a product of the Providence School of Jacksonville (FL), going to the Reds with the 85th overall pick.
As the linked MLB.com video relays, Callihan has an advanced bat with a sweet lefty swing, one that projects to hit for plenty of power.
