Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred has seen quite a few Opening Day festivities in his long career in the sport, but even he was taken aback by the party Cincinnati throws for the first day of the season.
And he got a front-row seat as he rode alongside Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench as the grand marshal of the Findlay Market Opening Day Parade.
"This is some spectacle," Manfred said as he sat in a classic Chevrolet Bel Air. "I've had a lot of Opening Days, but this one is really special."
It was Manfred's first appearance as commissioner for Cincinnati's Opening Day, although he has been here before, most notably during the 2015 All-Star Game.
