It’s unlikely that any of the most-hyped Cincinnati Reds prospects will make their big-league debuts any time soon, but several notable minor-leaguers will at least take a step closer to the majors later this month.
The first half of the season for the High-A Dayton Tortugas ends with the Florida State League All-Star Game on June 17. The Double-A Pensacola Blue Wahoos wind up their first half a day later, with the Southern League All-Star Game following two days after that.
Both leagues determine playoff eligibility by first- and second-half record. The Blue Wahoos began Saturday with a one-game lead for the South division first-half title in their league, and the Tortugas were two games back for the North division title a level below.
