Matt Davidson returns to the Cincinnati Reds after positive COVID-19 test

Less than a week after Cincinnati Reds infielder Matt Davidson was placed on the injured list because of a positive COVID-19 test, he was back with the team.

Davidson never tested positive on a league-administered test – MLB said Tuesday that Miami Marlins players were the only players to test positive since Opening Day, which ruled out Davidson, though he was on the IL for a positive test.

Davidson, who started on Opening Day as the Reds' designated hitter, tested negative on two nasal swab tests administered by the league, according to The Athletic.
