CINCINNATI -- Tyler Mahle gave up three home runs and the Reds' lineup couldn't capitalize on Cubs starter Yu Darvish's early struggles in a 6-1 loss Sunday that gave Chicago three of four games in the series.
Mahle pitched six innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits and two walks, with six strikeouts. Following a scoreless 12-pitch first inning, the rookie went off the rails in a 39-pitch second inning. It started with a four-pitch walk to Ian Happ, and the next batter, Kyle Schwarber, attacked a 1-1 breaking ball and hit a laser into the right-field seats for a two-run homer.
