When the Reds open their series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday night at Dodger Stadium, Cincinnati will roll out relief pitcher Luis Cessa in the role of an opener.
It will be the first time Reds manager David Bell has used an opener in Cincinnati.
Cessa, who was used as a starter 19 times in his first three seasons, hasn't started a game since 2018 with the New York Yankees.
