Luis Castillo hurt by long ball, Cincinnati Reds drop finale to Arizona Diamondbacks

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo had no problems throwing strikes against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

It just didn’t always work to his advantage.

Despite working ahead in counts, Castillo paid the price for leaving a couple of pitches over the plate. The Diamondbacks hit five home runs Sunday, two against Castillo, and the Reds were handed a 9-2 loss at Great American Ball Park in the final game of this weekend’s three-game series.

The Reds couldn’t complete a sweep against the National League West’s top team, snapping their five-game winning streak at home in front of 17,909 fans.
