CHICAGO – Luis Castillo was the first Reds starting pitcher to give up a run this weekend and he was the only one to walk out of it with a win.
Castillo allowed one run in 6 u2154 innings, completing a phenomenal weekend for a starting staff that has struggled all season.
It wasn’t the usual formula for Castillo, who didn’t force many swings and misses. Instead, he efficiently pitched to contact, and the Reds were rewarded with a 2-1 victory at Wrigley Field, snapping an eight-game losing streak to the Cubs in their final game against them this season.
