There’s been a fun back-and-forth between Amir Garrett and Lucas Sims on social media about who will become the Cincinnati Reds' closer in 2021.
Garrett recently tweeted a video of his dog in a stroller rolling down the sidewalk and joked, “How I’m pulling up to spring training.” Sims responded with a Larry David meme, “Eh, we’ll see.”
The Reds traded closer Raisel Iglesias to the Los Angeles Angels in December and it’s created an opening at closer for the first time in a few years. Garrett and Sims are two of the most likely candidates to win the job – if the Reds don’t try a closer-by-committee approach.
