Loek van Mil, who spent 10 seasons in Minor League Baseball and pitched for the Cincinnati Reds at Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Louisville in 2013, died at age 34, according to KNBSB - the Netherlands baseball and softball association.
KNBSB reported that van Mil's death followed injuries sustained in an accident.
At 7-foot-1, van Mil was the tallest man believed to have played professional baseball. He starred for the Netherlands in the World Baseball Classic.
