Kyle Farmer breaks out of a slump as the Reds beat the Red Sox

One night before Cincinnati Reds shortstop Kyle Farmer hit a game-changing two-run single in the fifth inning in Wednesday’s win over the Boston Red Sox, he nearly had the most dramatic hit of his MLB career.

On Tuesday night, Farmer was a few feet away from a walk-off grand slam. But his 379-foot line drive to center field was caught at the warning track. Against the Red Sox on Wednesday, Farmer flared a blooper to second base in the fifth inning that traveled 152 feet at just 52.7 mph off his bat.

The blooper was the one that broke his 0-for-17 slump.
