As the Kansas City Royals prepare to welcome the Cincinnati Reds, they will start former Reds pitcher Matt Harvey in the second game of their doubleheader Wednesday, the team confirmed Tuesday.
Harvey made 24 starts for the Reds in 2018 - going 7-7 with a 4.50 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 128 innings - after they acquired him from the New York Mets for catcher Devin Mesoraco.
Harvey, who has also pitched in the big leagues for the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Angels, finalized a minor-league deal last month with the Royals.
