NEW YORK – As the Reds look for a spark in their lineup, José Peraza was moved to the leadoff spot for Monday’s series opener against the New York Mets.

It was the third time Peraza hit leadoff this season, but his first two games at leadoff happened when Joey Votto sat with tightness in his back. Peraza entered Monday with seven hits in his last six starts, which included his first two games at leadoff.

“We like how José has been swinging the bat,” Reds manager David Bell said.
