GOODYEAR, Arizona –– Since first baseman Joey Votto announced that he tested positive for COVID-19, every other position player on the Cincinnati Reds has appeared either in a game or is in the starting lineup for Thursday’s matchup against the Chicago White Sox.
If a player has been identified as being in close contact with a person who had a confirmed positive case of COVID, that individual would have had to quarantine for seven days and test negative on the fifth day or later to rejoin the team facilities.
It looks like the Reds have avoided that possibility.
