Joey Votto and Nick Senzel, who have been sidelined for the past week on the COVID-related injured list, are unlikely to rejoin the Cincinnati Reds on their upcoming nine-game road trip.
Votto was placed on the IL before the Reds played in Milwaukee on May 3 and he’s been out for the club’s last nine games. Senzel went on the IL on May 4 and missed eight games.
If a player tests positive for COVID, according to the league’s health and safety protocols, he must isolate from the team for 10 days beginning when the player reported symptoms to the team’s medical staff.
