Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto - miked up on ESPN2 for the Reds' season-opener Thursday night against the Braves in Atlanta - said before the start of the game that he feels "like a rookie right now," despite entering his 16th Major League Baseball season.
"Each and every one of these Opening Days are special, and they just make you feel so young," Votto told ESPN2. "Opening Days in Major League Baseball don't disappoint. And I'm so grateful that I get to be a part of this year's."
The Reds tweeted before the game that a miked up Votto "will be interesting.
