ATLANTA – After throwing two pitches in the seventh inning Friday, Reds left-hander Alex Wood kept trying to stretch out his non-throwing arm. Third baseman Eugenio Suárez was concerned and signaled to the dugout.
Acting manager Freddie Benavides, pitching coach Derek Johnson and assistant trainer Tomas Vera walked to the mound to check on Wood’s health. Wood tried to wave them away when they approached the mound.
