Cincinnati Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton's defensive gems have become frequent contributors on baseball highlight reels. But Hamilton's catch in the seventh inning of Friday's 9-1 win against the St. Louis Cardinals - robbing Matt Carpenter of what appeared to be a home run to deep center - was among his best and will be a candidate for best defensive play of the season.
"Unbelievable," Reds manager Jim Riggleman said of Hamilton's catch, in the game story by The Enquirer's John Fay. "Billy does that to a lot of hitters."
