Jesse Winker is among the most patient of the Reds hitters.
He was not patient Thursday night. Winker wailed on the first strike he saw from left-hander Randy Rosario in the sixth inning and hit it out to right-center for his first career grand slam.
The shot lifted the Reds to a 6-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs before a crowd of 19,581 at Great American Ball Park. All six runs in the sixth came with two outs as the Reds sent 11 to the plate.
Right-hander Matt Harvey went six innings and allowed two runs on five hits.
