MIAMI – Jesse Winker traveled with the Reds to Pittsburgh while rehabbing a cervical strain last weekend, but he returned to Cincinnati earlier this week.

Winker is eligible to return from the 10-day injured list Thursday, but he won’t rejoin the club until September.

“It’s been slow, so he just went back to get more work done with (physical therapist) Andrew (Habasch) back in Cincinnati under a more controlled environment there where he could do more work,” Reds manager David Bell said.
