PITTSBURGH – Jake Fraley, who homered on the game’s fourth pitch Sunday, is in one of the zones where pitchers can’t do anything to stop him.
Fraley, known as Rake Fraley to some of his teammates, was a one-man wrecking ball to the Pittsburgh Pirates in their weekend three-game series. He reached base five times in the series finale, scored four runs and had three RBI.
What was most impressive about Fraley’s dominance during the Cincinnati Reds’ 9-5 victory at PNC Park was how powerless pitchers were to stop him. If they were ahead in counts, it didn’t matter.
