GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Cincinnati Reds manager David Bell said “it’s going to be close” for whether or not center fielder Nick Senzel will be ready for Opening Day.
Five months after he broke his toe at Great American Ball Park, Senzel is continuing a running program and is being held out of full-team activities. Senzel said at the start of spring training that he expected to be full-go around the end of February, but Senzel’s running progression will determine when he’s ready to play in spring training games.
“He’s going to be delayed as far as the spring training game schedule,” Bell said.
