Three batters after Cincinnati Reds center fielder TJ Friedl saved the day for Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene with a home run robbery that kept the Reds in front of the Chicago White Sox, Greene left a fastball over the middle of the plate.
Greene was spectacular for most of Friday’s start against the Chicago White Sox at Great American Ball Park. He was getting ugly swings and misses with all three of his pitches and working ahead in the count during a start that was nearly Greene’s most efficient of the season. Greene almost allowed a game-tying homer in the sixth inning to White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn, but Friedl made an acrobatic play for a leaping catch above the outfield wall.
