LOS ANGELES – When Hunter Greene walked off the mound in the middle of the sixth inning Saturday, there were Los Angeles Dodgers fans behind the Cincinnati Reds’ dugout who rewarded the young phenom with a standing ovation.
Six days after Greene made his Major League debut, he was pitching in his hometown and overpowering the team he grew up watching.
Teammates and opposing fans alike applauded him.
It didn’t end the way Greene wanted – Trea Turner hit a two-run homer against him in the sixth inning – but there is no doubting his talent.
