GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Near the end of the abbreviated spring training, Cincinnati Reds manager David Bell was asked which players were impressing him.
Bell was reluctant to name anyone because he didn’t want to forget a deserving player. He spoke in general terms for about 15 seconds, pointing out that he looks beyond how many hits a player has in spring training games. Then, right after he said he’d hate to start naming names, he offered one.
