CHICAGO — When the Cincinnati Reds added nobody else Tuesday at the trade deadline, it also meant they didn’t subtract the likeliest big-league trade piece on the roster, the odd-man out for playing time during this year’s youth movement – the mid-career veteran who was surprised as anyone he still wore a Reds uniform after the deadline.
“I thought there was an opportunity,” said Nick Senzel, “just talking with my agents and talking with the Reds.
“I love it in Cincinnati,” he added. “I just had conversations where maybe I could get some more at-bats and more playing time somewhere else if it made sense for both parties.
