GOODYEAR, Arizona – When Cincinnati Reds third baseman Eugenio Suárez sat down in front of the camera for his first Zoom call of the 2021 Cactus League season, he looked directly at the screen and said “Good vibes only, don’t you forget it.”
“Good vibes only” was Suárez’s motto during the 2020 season. It was his "Hakuna Matata," a reminder to keep a positive attitude no matter how things were looking at the moment. But 2020 wasn’t an easy year for Suárez to remain that upbeat.
He injured his shoulder before Spring Training. Then the novel coronavirus pandemic delayed the season.
