PHOENIX – Homer Bailey is going to the bullpen – probably.
“We talked with Homer earlier (Tuesday),” Reds manager Jim Riggleman said. “We are contemplating moving him to the bullpen. It’s going to be a real transition… We’ve got a few days to sort it out and see with more discussion with (pitching coaches) Danny Darwin and Teddy Power, Homer and myself to see how that would work for him.”
Bailey, the 32-year-old right-hander, is 1-7 with a 6.68 ERA. The Reds have lost 11 of his 12 starts.
He was not receptive to the move, Riggleman said.
