Homer Bailey will take the mound at Busch Stadium this afternoon (2:15 p.m. start). Bailey underwent season-ending surgery last September for a flexor mass strain. His recovery has remained on schedule and the tall Texan has been pain-free during his rehab starts.
With one exception (cough, cough, former Cardinal), the Reds starting pitcher has been outstanding. While it’s unrealistic to expect Bailey to be at peak-Homer form today, the Reds sure could use a quality start to help get out of the current skid that has seen them lose five of the last six games.
