ST. LOUIS -- Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton's road show has earned raves in hostile territory again. To end the bottom of the seventh inning vs. the Cardinals, Hamilton climbed the wall to rob Matt Carpenter of a home run.
There were two outs with Amir Garrett pitching for Cincinnati when Carpenter lifted a first-pitch fastball to straightaway center field. Hamilton tracked the ball the whole way and scaled the fence. He reached over to pull the ball back before it landed on the berm.
Those who remained among the sold-out crowd of 45,891 fans at Busch Stadium as Cincinnati led by an 8-1 score showed appreciation with applause as Hamilton excitedly jogged back to the visitor's dugout and pounded on his chest.
