ATLANTA -- Reds reliever Amir Garrett exited in the eighth inning of Tuesday night's game against the Braves at SunTrust Park after being hit on the left leg by a hard ground ball off the bat of Ender Inciarte.
Garrett, who replaced starter Matt Harvey with two outs in the seventh, returned for the eighth. Inciarte led off with a sharp comebacker. Garrett couldn't avoid the ball, which struck him near the knee and sent him down on the ground flat on his stomach.
After a few moments, Garrett was able to get up as he was looked over by head trainer Steve Baumann and interim manager Jim Riggleman.
