GOODYEAR, Ariz. — The Reds put up five runs on Cleveland reliever Josh Martin in the eighth inning to beat their in-state rivals 7-3 in front of 8,394 at Goodyear Ballpark on Friday night.
The Reds have now won five of their last six spring games, bringing their Cactus League record to 10-12.
3B Patrick Kivlehan led off the inning with a double, followed by a single by RF Ryan Raburn to start the inning. The third batter of the inning, C Chad Wallach doubled those two in to give the Reds a 4-3 lead. PH Sebastian Elizalde doubled him in and then CF Desmond Jennings then tripled in another run and was driven in by 2B Hernan Iribarren on a sacrifice fly to cap the scoring.
