Game report: Reds 6, Cubs 2

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Cincinnati Reds scored their first win of Cactus League play Thursday, beating the World Series champion Chicago Cubs 6-2 at Goodyear Ballpark.

The Reds had a 4-0 lead after sixth but risked losing it in the seventh. RHP Luis Castillo gave up two singles and a walk to load the bases with no outs, and allowed a run on a sacrifice fly. He struck out the next batter, but gave up another hit to center to drive in another run. But the inning ended on that same play when CF Phil Ervin threw out a runner trying to advance to third.
