The Kansas City Royals are close to an agreement with former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Billy Hamilton, according to Royals general manager Dayton Moore.
Last week, multiple reports indicated that the Royals - with an apparent vacancy in center field - were interested in Hamilton, who became a free agent after the Reds did not offer him a contract before the non-tender deadline a week earlier.
"I’m pretty transparent when it comes to certain players and he fits our ballpark," Moore said on MLB Network Radio. "We covet that speed. You have to be able to cover Kauffman Stadium.
