Former Cincinnati Reds player, MLB All-Star Josh Hamilton arrested on child abuse charge

Former American League MVP Josh Hamilton has been arrested on a charge of causing injury to a child.

The Cincinnati Reds, Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels outfielder turned himself in Wednesday afternoon, according to CBS 11 TV in Dallas-Forth Worth.

Hamilton's bond was set at $35,000 on the charge, a third-degree felony. According to court records, Hamilton's ex-wife sought a protective order earlier this month to prohibit contact with one of his daughters. It was later expanded to any child under 17.
