Former Reds pitcher Mat Latos, now in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, incited a benches-clearing brawl Saturday.
The scene started when Latos’ catcher, Kevin Torres, was knocked over at the plate on a throw from left field. Latos, who hasn’t thrown in an MLB game since April 2017, followed with a pitch inside to the next batter and another over the batter's head.
After the second pitch, words were exchanged and the benches cleared for the second time in the inning. Latos body-slammed an opposing player and several punches were thrown from various players during the minute-long brawl.
