Tyler Stephenson continued his torrid start to the season with a weekend worth of mashing at the plate. All told, the 2015 1st round pick went 5 for 10 with a double, a triple, 3 walks, 3 ribbies, and 4 runs scored for the Class A+ Daytona Tortugas in 3 games, which is exactly the kind of offensive upside that had him routinely on Top 100 overall prospect lists before he ran into a litany of injuries.
Now healthy, he’s showing why he was so highly regarded, and at this rate I’d be surprised if he doesn’t earn a promotion up to AA Pensacola at some point this summer - especially when Chris Okey and his now-injured wrist get activated.
